Micro
Leasing
Leasing to Micro & Small Enterprises sector (MSE) effectively took a
modest start in June 2004 with the setting up of MSE unit in Karachi
Zone. Later, the activities were also initiated at other zones and
satellite units. With the support and guidance of Management from
time to time substantial progress in just a little over one and a
half years was achieved in development of the MSE portfolio such
that need for a separate Division was realized and an exclusive MSE
Division put in place with two separate Zones:
-
MSE South
Zone
-
MSE North &
Central Zone
From a humble start to a full fledge MSE Division and an ever
increasing client base with excellent recovery rate is proof of
the sustainability of the operations and the organization's
recognition of its social
responsibility as mentioned in its vision statement too.
Over the past few years development of the MSE sector was
emphasized as a tool of poverty alleviation and therefore,
economic growth. Therefore, in future, MSE sector will emerge as
a significant portfolio of financial industry and there is a
need to prepare for the challenges.
We have taken the first step of the long journey and with the
initial success we have found a new confidence that will guide
us in achieving further milestones.
Innovative Project Fund
Lease on Wheels
The MSE Mobile Van was very effective in timely execution of IPF
cases pertaining to rural areas of Sindh. It acted as an extended
counter and provided door-step services to the farming communities
in rural areas of Mityari, Hala, Shadadpur and Golarchi. MSE
Hyderabad outreach was enhanced with the induction of the Mobile Van
as MSE-IPF leases were provided in ten geographical areas of rural
Sindh.

Case Studies
Micro and Small Leasing is both a challenge and a commitment to a
cause. The challenge is to deal with small enterprises who have
meager financial resources and enable them to build and upgrade
their enterprise on sustainable basis. The objective is to cater to
the financial requirements of the under served segment of the
society. This can only be achieved with a strong commitment which
derives its energy from such success stories as unfolded in the
succeeding pages.
